Air Force Graduates


Army National Guard Pfc. Kyle C. Walker has graduated from One Station Unit Training (OSUT) at Fort Leonard Wood, Waynesville, Mo., which included basic military training and advanced individual training (AIT). During basic military training, the trainee received instruction in drill and ceremony, weapons qualification, map reading, tactics, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, first aid, and Army doctrine, history, principles and traditions. During AIT, the soldier completed the military police specialist course to acquire skills to provide combat area support, conduct battlefield circulation control, area security, prisoner of war operations, civilian internee operations, and law and order operations. The trainee performed as a team member in support of battlefield operations, installation law and order operations and security of Army resources and installations. Additional training included providing peacetime support to the military community through security of resources, crime prevention programs, and preservation of law and order. Walker is the son of Helena M. Medeiros of Prospect Street, Fall River, and Charles M. Walker of Jon Ester Road, Somerset. He is a 2011 graduate of Somerset High School.

Army National Guard Sgt. 1st Class Barry J. Klaver has returned to the U.S. after being deployed overseas at a forward operating base to serve in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Operation Enduring Freedom is the official name given to anti-terrorism military operations involving U.S. troops and allied coalition partners. Active duty and reserve component members from all branches of the U.S. armed forces have been deployed to support the war against global terrorism outside the borders of the United States. U.S. troops serve in South, Southwest and Central Asia, the Arabian peninsula, the Horn of Africa, islands in the Pacific, and Europe. Klaver is a civil affairs specialist with the 26th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade (Yankee) based in Reading. He has served 17 years in the military. He is the son of Ilene S. Klaver of North Attleboro, and Paul Klaver of Viking Court, Arlington. His wife, Christine, is the daughter of Diane L. Neil of Brockton.

Active duty and reserve component members from all branches of the U.S. armed forces have been deployed to support the war against global terrorism outside the borders of the United States. U.S. troops serve in South, Southwest and Central Asia, the Arabian peninsula, the Horn of Africa, islands in the Pacific, and Europe. Masury is a noncommissioned officer in charge of signal support systems assigned to the 26th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade (Yankee) based in Reading, Mass. He has served 29 years in the military. He is the son of Shirley King of Edgewater, Fla., and Ronald Masury of Milford, Conn. His wife, Joanne, is the daughter of Roger and Jeannine Vandal of East Dennis, Mass.

Almeida is a noncommissioned officer in charge of military police operations with the 26th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade (Yankee) based in Reading. He has served 26 years in the military. He is the son of Ruth Almeida of Suffolk Street, Whitman.
